CYCLE RIGHT is the National Standard for Cycle Training and provides practical cycle safety and skills training to promote competent and confident cyclists.
CYCLE RIGHT is produced and supported by the Department of Transport, the Road Safety Authority and Cycling Ireland, with input from central and local agencies and other groups.
We have organised for Cycleright to come to our 5th class pupils this term!
2 instructors will come to the school and deliver four 1 hr 45 min lessons, covering areas such as Theory and Rules of the Road training, Core Bicycle-Handling and Road-Skills training.
All of the training will take place in the school yards in a simulated road environment, so it will be completely safe.
We are very happy to be able to make this training available to our pupils!
Last Monday the 11th of December 2023 we got a surprise visit from the Taoiseach! We got just enough notice to gather the pupils and staff of Scoil Mhuire in the yard to greet Leo Varadkar and Sean Kyne!
On Tuesday the 5th of December Fr. Michael McLoughlin paid a visit to Scoil Mhuire to bid us farewell. Fr. Michael, who served as Parish Priest of Moycullen Parish for 21 years, recently took up a new position as the Parish Priest of Salthill. Our pupils presented Fr. Michael with a card they created and gifts. Fr. Michael said that although he would miss us all here in Scoil Mhuire, he was looking forward to his new challenge of looking after the 4 primary schools and 3 secondary schools in Salthill.
Congratulations to all the children who represented Scoil Mhuire so well at the Schools Cross country championship in Renmore even though they had a day off school!!
