Ceol agus Craic visited Lidl

Well done to Ceol agus Craic, our group of trad musicians and singers who performed in our new Lidl store today. We are immensely proud of them and thank their parents for their continued support. We would also like to thank Lidl for their kind welcome and this amazing opportunity.

Spelling Bee Buzz!

Our Spelling Bee brought plenty of excitement as class battles took place on Monday, 17th February! Each class had already narrowed down their top two spellers, who then faced off against their counterparts in thrilling head-to-head rounds.

Third class kicked things off, spelling words like corridor, plumber, cylinder, oxygen, eclipse, and horizon, with Ferdinand emerging as the winner. Fourth class had three representatives per group and impressed us with words such as naughty, discourage, oasis, official, and ordinary, before Maya claimed victory. In fifth class, tough words like perimeter, intercept, persuade, and ambitious were tackled, with Finn standing strong as the champion. Finally, sixth class battled through challenging words like apprehensive, reluctant, melancholy, and immaculate, before Paulina took the crown.

Each winner received a book voucher for Moycullen Bookshop, and all class battle participants were rewarded with a well-earned homework pass. A huge thank you to Benas, our Bee Master, who did a fantastic job keeping competitors at ease, pronouncing words clearly, and providing definitions and sentences when needed. We hope to make this an annual event so all our spelling bees can prepare in advance! Best of luck to Benas as he represents our school once again in the Eason Spelling Bee—last year’s All-Ireland second-place finish was an incredible achievement. The €3,000 worth of books he won have now been labelled and added to our library, much to the delight of our eager readers!
