Dear Parents,

It’s almost too early to mention the C word but time is flying by, We have decided to participate in the Team Hope Shoe-box Christmas appeal 2019, In the coming week the children will be given a flyer about the appeal. It is entirely optional to participate in this but a lovely idea for the children of Scoil Mhuire to participate in. Last year we sent 335 boxes to needy children in Eastern Europe and in Africa, The boxes need to have the 4 W’s in them; something to wash, wear, write with or on and something to wow.  Every year  there seems to be a deficit in boxes for 10-14 year olds, so maybe that is something older classes could focus on.  Great deals to be found in Penney’s, Dealz, Mr Price, Tesco, or Dunnes to help fill the boxes. No liquids or toys related to war eg soldiers, fighter jets etc. The boxes need to be completed and dropped back here to the school before  Tuesday November 7th to enable collection to take place to the Galway Racecourse.
