Closing date for entry, Friday January 31st (Day before 6-Nations rugby starts)

Hi all,
It’s a new year, so let’s go again with a new Know Your Sport competition.
Scoil Mhuire Moycullen national school are running a fund-raiser for the students of the school.
If you’d like to join the roll-of-honour of previous winners who clearly “Know their Sports”, we’d love if you would like to enter again for €10 with a view to winning your part of €1,000 in prize money.
No Rugby World Cup to enjoy this time (Did we enjoy it as Irish fans in Japan?) but we have the festival of sports that is the Olympics combined with the Euro 2020 soccer, so plenty to mull over.
Let’s hope the ladies hockey team continue to generate great pride as the only field team (men’s or women’s) to compete at this level.
No major changes to the format, shade/highlight one pick in each of the 25 questions, and earn bragging rights amongst your peers. Sounds easy, but if you get even half of them correct, you’ll be in a dash for the money in September.
Winner €700, Runner Up €200, Third €100
So if you’d like to join us on a magic carpet ride, which takes you from the rolling hills of Cheltenham, through the beautiful blooming azaleas of Augusta, the hush of The Crucible in Sheffield, along the manicured courts of Wimbledon in SW19, on to the bright lights of Tokyo until we reach the cathedral of sport that is Croke Park at the end of the summer, you are in the right place.
We also have the student’s competition, where we have Smyth’s voucher for the Top 3 students who enter.
This section is great for the kids in relation to numeracy and reading graphed statistics, as well as maintaining interest in sports.
Some kids might want to aim for the stars and win it all, so below is a clarification. Only paid entries can win part of the €1,000
Clarification: All entries to the student competition are free as long as they are accompanied by a paid entry.
Option 1: A student and adult can both enter for €10, the adult can win the main prize and the student can win the student prize.
Option 2: If a student wants to aim big and win the lot, both forms can be submitted for €20, and the student therefore has 2 chances to win: main prize and student prize.
The only difference in the student form attached is that it is water-marked for clarity on entries.
You can organize collection of forms and payments via the people who sold to you last year. They’ll be on to you! Contact details on the entry form also.
Feel free to forward this to any colleagues you think would enjoy, the more the merrier.
Closing date for entry, Friday January 31st (Day before 6-Nations rugby starts)
With the funds, we aim to further increase the amount of musical instruments in the school band, as well as upgrading/supplying any other items which the school body feel will improve the experiences and outcomes for all students currently in the school.
Thanks a million for your support.
Good luck…….
