The staff and particularly the students of Scoil Mhuire would like to say a big THANK YOU to all who helped them to have a super fun Active Schools week. Without the fantastic support of parents and local clubs, this week would not be possible. This week is hugely important in supporting the message conveyed throughout the year of the importance of physical education and wellbeing. The activities throughout the week encourage the children to try something new. The week promotes values such as inclusivity, team work, fair play, enjoyment, tolerance, respect and volunteerism, sense of achievement and overall good sportsmanship. If your child has an interest in taking up any of the activities explored throughout the week, please contact the school and we will point you in the right direction. We would like to thank Rachel Boyle (drum stick fitness), Ava Cawley & Sorcha (hockey), Seán Hynes (Moycullen Basketball Club), Emma Carter (Cumann Peil na mBan Maigh Cuilinn), Jimmy McNamara (soccer), Prionsias Moughan, Tony Audley & Morgan D’arcy (Moycullen Handball Club), Chris Hurney & Kevin Walsh (Moycullen Hurling) Ronan Keville (Phase Up Gym Moycullen), Eamonn Sherlock & Adrian Mulligan (Moycullen Juvenille Gaelic Football Club), Sarah Mannion (St. Michael Ladies Football Club), Hugh (Oughterard Golf Club) and Iarlaith Davoren (Galway Untied Football Club). Míle míle buíochas to Ms Duggan for coordinating this!!!
