Active Flag

Scoil Mhuire have applied for the active school flag. The active school flag is awarded to schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. The process aims to get more schools, more active, more often.

We have distributed “pocket planners” from the Irish heart foundation to students from 3rd – 6th class. The aim is to increase the amount of time you spend being active by trying new activities. We need to move more, sit less. We will also be giving awards to students who we feel are making an effort to become more active.

We would like to congratulate John Walsh with our winning Active slogan “Hop, Skip, Jump and Play. Be more active Everyday! John won a 20 Euro voucher.

Keep an eye on our Active School Noticeboard outside Room 8 which highlights some of our sporting achievements!
